Getting to the right clinician
Many hospitals ask a patient to choose a department before any clinician has examined them. We do it the other way round: describe the problem in your own words, and we decide which specialist should see you.
A few plain sentences in the booking form is enough. There is no wrong way to say it.
A clinician decides which discipline should see you, and whether it should be sooner than you asked for.
Where two areas are involved, the specialists discuss it between them rather than passing you along.
If a case needs a facility we do not have, we say so and hand over properly.
That is our job, not yours. Describe what is happening and we will match you to the clinician who should be assessing it.
