Terms and conditions
The basis on which we provide this website and our services - including the things we will not do, which matter more than the things we will.
About these terms
These terms apply between you and Care and Cure Clinics Ltd. (RC 1533771), whose clinic is at #15 Ikwerre Street, Mile One, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. They cover your use of this website and, where stated, the services we provide. By using this website you accept the parts of these terms that relate to it.
Where we provide clinical care, that care is also governed by professional standards and by any separate consent or care agreement you sign. Where those conflict with these terms, the clinical consent and professional obligations take precedence.
Using this website
- The content is provided for general information about the clinic and its services.
- We try to keep it accurate and current, but content may become out of date, and details such as fees, hours and available services can change.
- You may read, print and share pages for your own personal or clinical use. The brand name, logo and page content remain our property.
- You must not attempt to disrupt the site, submit automated or fraudulent requests through its forms, or use it to send unlawful or abusive material.
This website is not medical advice
Nothing on this website is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for a consultation with a qualified clinician who has assessed you. Descriptions of conditions and services are general and cannot account for your circumstances.
Do not delay seeking care, and do not stop or change a treatment, on the basis of something you have read here.
Emergencies
This website and its forms are not an emergency service and are not monitored continuously. If you believe you are facing a medical emergency, telephone the clinic on +234 803 449 4096 or attend the nearest healthcare facility immediately. Emergency medical and surgical care operates 24 hours a day by telephone.
Appointments and requests
- Submitting the booking form is a request, not a confirmed appointment. An appointment exists once we have confirmed a time with you.
- We triage requests clinically. That means a request describing something urgent may be brought forward, and a routine request may not be seen as quickly as you asked.
- Please tell us as early as possible if you cannot attend, so the slot can be given to another patient.
- We may need to move or cancel an appointment where a clinician is called to an emergency. We will tell you as soon as we know and offer the earliest alternative.
- Where you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please give at least 24 hours' notice so the slot can be offered to another patient.
Limits of telemedicine
- A remote consultation cannot include a physical examination, and there are conditions that cannot be safely assessed without one. Where that applies we will say so and recommend being seen in person.
- Prescribing by remote consultation is done only where it is clinically appropriate, and only where it is lawful in the place you are. We will tell you if we cannot prescribe before you pay.
- You are responsible for the connection and device you use, and for taking the consultation somewhere private enough for you to speak freely.
- Where a consultation cannot proceed for technical reasons, we will reschedule it.
Medical transport
- Response times depend on distance, traffic and the vehicles already committed. We will tell you honestly what is achievable rather than promise a time we cannot keep.
- Accurate information about the patient's mobility, weight-bearing ability and access at both ends of the journey is essential to assigning safe equipment and crew. Please do not understate difficulties.
- Crew may decline to move a patient where doing so would be unsafe, and will explain why and what is needed instead.
- Coverage areas and transport pricing are confirmed directly with our emergency dispatch team upon enquiry.
Home and residential care
- Care at home and residential placements begin with a clinical assessment. We will not agree a care package before someone has assessed the patient and, for home care, the home.
- Care plans are reviewed and may be increased, reduced or ended as the patient's needs change.
- We ask households to provide a safe working environment for visiting staff. Where it is not safe, we will discuss what has to change before visits continue.
- Notice periods and transition arrangements for home care packages or residential placements are agreed in the written care agreement.
Fees and payment
- You will be told what something costs before it is provided. If a plan changes in a way that changes the cost, we will tell you.
- Itemised fees and payment methods are provided transparently in writing. We accept major debit/credit cards, bank transfers, and accredited HMO plans.
- Where you are using insurance or HMO cover, the claim is between you and your insurer. We provide the clinical documentation the claim requires.
Conduct, and when we may refuse service
Our staff are entitled to work without abuse. We may decline or withdraw a service where there is violence, threats, harassment or discriminatory abuse toward staff or other patients, or where continuing would be unsafe.
We may also decline where a case is genuinely outside what we can provide safely. In that situation we will say so plainly and refer you onward rather than accept work we cannot do well.
Liability
We accept responsibility for the care we provide to the extent required by Nigerian law and professional standards. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
For this website specifically, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information published here, from the site being temporarily unavailable, or from content on external sites we link to.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
